Itinerary
Early in the morning, our tour guide will pick you up from your lodging in Cairo and drive you "approximately 95km" to the Fayoum oasis. It was regarded by the ancient Egyptians as the epicenter of religious devotion to the crocodile god Sobek. There are about 200 of these enormous waterwheels scattered across the oasis. The Great Seven Waterwheels, one of the emblems of the Fayoum oasis, will be the first thing you notice.
The next sight you'll come across is "Qaron's Lake," which is also Egypt's largest saltwater lake and is regarded as the world's oldest natural lake. Around the lake, you could come across various fruits and vegetables as well as an amazing variety of birds that are migrating south for the winter. After a hot day of sightseeing, it's a terrific location to unwind. After that, you'll stop for a picnic lunch. We then traveled to "Wadi al-Rayan," a place that was designated a Protected Area in 1989. It's a terrific location for an exciting but relaxing day excursion. Numerous lakes are perfect for swimming, jumping off of, or just taking in the breathtaking scenery.
We will then take you back to the Fayoum Hotel where you will spend the night.
Following breakfast in the morning, you will go to the "Wadi Hitan" Valley of Whales. Because of the vast number of fossils that have been preserved there dating back to some of the oldest forms of whales, it was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2005. Find fossils that date back as far as 200 million years, to a time when the desert was submerged in water. The bones and skeletons of whales and sea cows are the most noticeable fossils. Whale fossils have been discovered, including individual bones and whole skeletons. Several incomplete skeletons are currently on display at the park's open area.
After this lovely excursion, proceed a few hundred metres south of Wadi El Rayyan Road to Mudawara Mountain for a visit.
Following breakfast in the morning, you will go to the "Wadi Hitan" Valley of Whales. Since there are a tonne of really ancient fossils there
It has a lovely, layered look and an arresting symmetry, but is more of a rock structure than a real mountain. Then, you'll be taken by car to Karanis, a ruin from the Ptolemaic era. There are several Roman, Coptic, and Early Islamic monuments in that city. After that, we'll transport you back to your Cairo hotel.
