This is one of the most famous monuments to the god Amun, built during the XXVIth dynasty, in the 6th century BC, on the Agurmi plateau. Siwa is the westernmost oasis in the Egyptian desert, located just 30 kilometers from the Libyan border, in the heart of a vast sea of sand. The Temple of Amun, also known as the Temple of Umm Ubaid, was built during the 30th Dynasty. All that remains is a wall decorated with bas-reliefs and a huge pile of ruins. The temple was built by Nektanebo II. The Temple of Amun is one of the oldest temples in the world. It was built 4 kilometers east of the modern city of Siwa during the reign of the thirtieth dynasty of Nektanebo II.
