8 Hour trip to the Egyptian museum & pyramids from the airport

On the west bank of the Nile, opposite Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza raise their mythical spires, 4,500 years old, amidst a sandy desert. A visit to the Pyramids of Giza will take you to the heart of Khufu, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, Khafre, and Menkaure, before you come face to face with the famous Sphinx. The grandeur of ancient Egypt then unfolds before our astonished eyes. And when you slip inside, into a labyrinth of corridors, royal burial chambers, and gilded sarcophagi, the magic truly takes hold. Here, the Egyptians left daily offerings to the souls of the deceased pharaohs. Discover all our travel ideas to the Pyramids of Giza.

Enjoy a visit to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, in the heart of Cairo. It is one of the largest archaeological museums in the world, containing the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, with more than 136,000 Pharaonic artifacts, in addition to hundreds of thousands of artifacts in its stores. On June 29, 1835, Muhammad Ali Pasha ordered the establishment of the Department of Antiquities and the Egyptian Museum, and assigned their management to Youssef Dia Effendi, under the supervision of Rifa’a al-Tahtawi.
