3 Days 2 Nights Bahariya Oasis Tour From Cairo

Overview

Enjoy a trip to Egypt's Western Desert and the Bahariya Oasis. It has some of the rarest natural secrets and specialized formations seen in this nation, although it does not even cover one percent of the arid region there. However, this oasis is not a spot visited by many cosmic archaeologists for ancient tombs or hidden treasures, for example. It is a place that includes dinosaur fossils and the remains of other creatures that no human has seen for millions of years.

Enjoy the palm trees and fruits in this lush green area. You will also be able to enjoy the hot springs, as these people find that enjoying these waters is the best ending to a long and tiring day. Also, you will enjoy seeing a mountain made entirely of crystals, or crystal, which is a rocky hill of limited height extending alongside the highway.

In the White Desert, you may experience the real desert beneath a starry sky as you set out on a fantastic nocturnal journey.  Use a telescope to observe the stars after following your knowledgeable guide into the dunes. Expert guides offer insights into the celestial bodies. End the night with an unforgettable sunrise excursion and a short walk around the magnificent Fossil Rock landscape. Discover the magic of camping in the desert overnight.

Itinerary

Prepare yourself to head to Bahariya Oasis in a private air-conditioned car that will pick you up from in front of your hotel in Cairo. Bahariya Oasis City, “The Paradise of the Western Desert”... on a journey of about 360 kilometers from Cairo to the Western Desert, and despite this distance, it is one of the cities of Giza Governorate.

You will sample the Bedouin meal when you first get there.  The Bedouin tribes are well-known for their varied, uniquely flavorful foods that are prepared over a wood fire. The majority of these meals are made from wheat, rice, the flesh of their sheep, and vegetables that they produce in basic methods.  An essential component of tribal culture is Bedouin cuisine.  Cooking techniques differ depending on each tribe's traditions and culture.

You will proceed to the Valley of the Golden Mummies following lunch.  Dr. Zahi Hawass, an Egyptologist, discovered in the year 2000 AD. No writings, drawings, texts or names of these mummies were found inside the tombs, but many belongings of this Roman people were found, including treasures, jewelry, and most importantly, many pieces of Roman coins, through which the era, history and hidden secrets were determined from hundreds and thousands of years ago, dating back to the third century BC. Discover more with your guide

After that, you will be transferred to your hotel to rest and enjoy your Bedouin hotel, which is different from the style of Cairo hotels.

After breakfast, you will start your tours to visit the hot springs to the north of the main road leading to the oasis. You can visit it, a small village dating back to the 19th dynasty, and it contains the tomb of the ruler of the region dating back to the first century AD. The beautiful carvings carved on the shrines explain the mummification process and depict the final trial of the dead in the court of Osiris.

After that, you will be transferred to the Black Desert. The Black Desert was given this name because of the layer of black powder that covers its mountains, plateaus, and sands as a result of ancient weathering and rock erosion over the years. Jurassic rocks do not appear much in the area, but rather Cretaceous rocks do. These hills vary in size, composition, height, and shape and consist of basalt, dolerite, iron quartzite, iron sandstone, and iron oxides in different colours.

Then, enjoy the White Desert. The White Desert is a “National Park Reserve” according to the classification of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and its characteristics are summarized in that it is one of the important natural landmarks, and it is an important source of income for the people of the oases, in addition to being of great historical and archaeological value.

Don’t miss out on the thrill of stargazing, immerse yourself in the wonders of this beautiful place at night, when the sky turns pink and then a deepest shade of fiery orange, after sunset, the rocky shapes will fade away, and silence will reign everywhere, at this moment you will find the Bedouins inviting you to sit around a blazing fire, enjoy buried chicken, and a cup of hot tea, while camping in the place.

After breakfast, you will also enjoy the limestone formations. I advise you to watch these sculptural formations, especially at sunrise, when the sun lights them with pink-orange shades, or when the moon is full; this gives the landscape a polar appearance like a huge ghost, so you feel more exciting and adventurous.

The sands surrounding the rocky outcrops will capture your attention as they are filled with quartz, various types of deep black iron pyrite, and small fossils.

Near these formations are two flat-topped mountains, which some guides call the “Twin Peaks.” Visitors may take in the breathtaking views from the summit of the nearby symmetrical hills, which are all fashioned like enormous anthills. This is a popular site for local tour operators and a significant vacation destination.

Following your excursion, you will be returned to Cairo.
