Cairo tours will allow you to make the most of your stay, as Cairo is brimming with things to see and do. Our wide range of tours will take you to discover the Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, and the Egyptian Museum, or to explore Old Cairo.
The Coptic Quarter is part of Old Cairo and contains a large number of Christian churches and other sites dating from the period between the decline of the Pharaonic religion and the arrival of Islam, when Egypt was predominantly Christian. Coptic Cairo is largely built around the Babylonian fort, on the remains of its walls.
In the morning, our tour starts from the hotel where our driver will be with us. The Giza Pyramids Plateau will be our first stop. We start our excursion by going to the Great Pyramid. Important details about the pyramid's owner and construction, including the fact that it took ten to twenty years, will be covered by your guide. Then we move to Khafre. Built on a small hill, it is 3 meters shorter than the Pyramid of Khufu next door but higher in altitude. At 143 meters high and with a square base 215 meters long, it is the second largest monument in Giza... After that, we visit the thirds pyramid. It measures 105m on each side and 66m high, compared to 230m on each side and 138m high for that of Cheops.
You will visit Saqqara. This is an essential site to visit in order to understand part of the spirituality of ancient Egypt. They believed that their soul, which they called Ka, was part of a whole, that it grew in all things and that, from the afterlife, it returned to earth like a river. When you visit the Step Pyramid of Soser, you will learn all this information and much more. There are also other temples and small pyramids located next to the tombs of prestigious names and pharaohs such as Mereruka, Kagemni, Ankhmahor, Idut, and Ti. You will visit some tombs like Kagemni and enter the pyramids of Teti and Nas.
After lunch we will head to Coptic Cairo. There are six churches dating back to the early Christian era. We will visit two of them and a monastery. The Hanging Church, also known as the Church of the Virgin Mary, was built in the ninth century and stands on the walls of the Babylonian fortress. Today, the impact of this "hanging" church has diminished due to the construction of ground levels around the walls.
The Ben Ezra Synagogue is the next location. Constructed in the ninth century, this synagogue is the oldest in Cairo and is supposed to have been the location of the Temple of Jeremiah or the location where Moses was discovered among the reeds by the daughter of Pharaoh. At the end of the tour, after learning about the most important information about the Pharaonic era through your visit to the most important Pharaonic sites and learning about the Coptic period, your driver will be with you to return you to your place of residence again or to any place you want inside Cairo.
