Itinerary
You will visit the most famous and important museums of Greater Cairo today. Our driver is an expert, so he will pick you up in front of your hotel in Alexandria and head to Cairo for around two and a half hours.
You will visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, which is located near the Babylonian fortress in the heart of the historical city of Fustat in the old Egypt District of Cairo. The story of the museum's foundation began with the great global interest in Egyptian antiquities after the deciphering of the Rosetta Stone by the French scientist Champollion. The first nucleus of the museum was a small house at the old Azbakiya pond, where Muhammad Ali Pasha ordered the registration of fixed Egyptian antiquities and the transfer of valuable antiquities to the Azbakiya Museum in 1835, and assigned their management to Youssef Dia Effendi, under the supervision of Rafah El Tahtawy.
