Itinerary
First day, you have a rejuvenating breakfast before the memorable adventure begins as a representative picks you up from one of the hotels in Hurghada by a comfortable air-conditioned bus. Sit and relax as the drive stretches for six hours down the magnificent coastline of the Red Sea before finally reaching Cairo. It is here that the wonders of ancient Egypt begin for you. The Giza Plateau, where the memorable Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus stand, is your first and elated point of interest. You will marvel at how huge they are and be astonished by the engineering achievement against which you stand under their shadows.
Nearby, contemplate the Great Sphinx - it's an enigmatic statue with a lion's body and the head of a pharaoh guarding the secrets of the past. Visit also the Valley Temple since it's a site of significant importance as part of the Chephren Pyramid complex where ancient rituals took place.
After a hearty lunch in one of the local restaurants, the expedition through history will bring you to the well-known Egyptian Museum, the treasure house of antiquities, which includes thousands of artifacts, from the glistening treasures of King Tutankhamun to other relics of Egypt's long and exciting history. On day two of your adventure in Cairo from Hurghada, breakfast first, check out of your hotel, and then meet your guide ready to travel through Cairo's rich history, starting at the Salah El Din Citadel. This medieval Islamic fort can give magnificent panoramic views of the city and hosts several historic buildings.
Then, explore the gorgeous Mohamed Ali Mosque, sometimes called the Alabaster Mosque, known for its high minarets and graceful Ottoman architectural features. Culture in Old Cairo will involve the Hanging Church, St. Sergius Church, and St. Barbara Church inside these former two churches, which all carry rich history and tradition. You shall then go to the Khan El Khalili Bazaar for an exciting, lively atmosphere where you can shop for souvenirs and assess their handmade items with authentic Egyptian spices. Sooner or later, by afternoon, you board your comfortable bus back to Hurghada after two magical days in Cairo.
