The most important monuments
Qaytbay Castle: located on the western shore of the Nile in the Rashid area, built by Sultan Al-Ashraf Abu Al-Nasr Qaytbay in the late Mamluk state, it is an independent building 60 meters long, 50 meters wide and 4.5 meters thick with walls. Rashid Museum: located in one of the archaeological houses in the city of Rashid, which dates back to the first half of the eighteenth century, and the house includes 4 floors. Umsayli house: built by Osman Agha Topji in 1213 AD, it is a wonderful example of Islamic architecture, characterized by its inlaid shell and elephant tooth carpentry, engraved with exquisite Arabic inscriptions.
It dates back to the Mamluk era. Monument: a plaque representing the hajj of the martyrdom of Mahmudiya is inscribed in Turkish, and the texts have been recently translated into Arabic. It was located in the Great Mosque of Mahmudiya and was moved and placed at the mouth of her pasture. The Wadi el Natroun monastery has the tombs of all Orthodox patriarchs.
It is found in the Na'at desert. King Farouk Palace in Edfina: currently the headquarters of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Damanhour University. The archaeological Hill of Kum taqala is an area where there may be traces, and there are about (186) archaeological mounds in the lake, which are distributed over two areas: north of the lake, and south of the lake, and there are archaeological pieces in some of these hills, such as Kum taqala Hill, which is located south of Ezbet Al-Sawi by about (1500) meters and is located north of Abu Homs center by about (4500) meters, which Jamal Mubarak excavated those artifacts in this hill in 2009, and then on a part of the hill to create the Mubarak Sports Complex. The Municipal Theater building (currently a cinema) was built in the form of an opera during the reign of King Fuad. The municipal library building was built during the reign of King Fuad. The building of the Legal School (currently the Faculty of Agriculture) is a magnificent architectural masterpiece built during the reign of King Fuad.
