Today we will have the opportunity to explore and enjoy a visit to the Cairo Tower, which is located in the center of Cairo, the official capital of Egypt, specifically on Zamalek Island on the Nile River. It was built between 1956 and 1961 using reinforced concrete. It was designed by engineer Naoum Shabib in the shape of an Egyptian lotus flower, which dates back to Pharaonic origins. It reaches a height of 187 meters, which is about 43 meters higher than the Great Pyramid of Giza.
There, you will learn a lot about the tower, which consists of 16 floors ending with an open panoramic terrace that offers you a unique view of the capital. The terrace is equipped with telescopes so that you can see Cairo landmarks such as the Maspero building, Saladin Citadel, Abdeen Palace, and other important places. In addition, the tower features a revolving restaurant that rotates around a pivot point and completes a full rotation in one hour.
