Valley of the kings

Valley of The Kings Tombs is the most famous historical tomb in the world, where the Pharaohs buried their kings during the 500 years in this region.
The Western Valley contains a few tombs, so the Eastern Valley is more famous. The Valley of the Kings includes more than 60 tombs, in addition to twenty unfinished tombs that are excavations.

The strong kings of the New Kingdom were buried under the top of a pyramid-shaped cliff that surrounded the valley.
Some non-royal, but high-ranking individuals were buried in the valley.

The pyramid was a symbol of eternal life and rebirth and was considered a sign of the gods. This area was under the control of Hathor: "The Lady of the West".

The pharaohs were burying their kings in the pyramids, but the ideas of the pharaohs changed and they moved their kings underground to the Valley of the Kings after repeated thefts, because of the isolated nature of this valley chosen as a place for the last rest of the kings.
The royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings are distinguished by their inscriptions and drawings from ancient Egyptian mythology illustrating the religious beliefs of that time.

The ancient Egyptians were concerned with preserving the body, embalming it, and placing it in a safe place for the afterlife.
The first ruler of the modern state who was buried in the Valley of the Kings was Thutmose I, the third king of the Eighteenth Dynasty.
The most prominent of those buried in the Valley of the Kings are Amenhotep II, Tuthmosis III, Tuthmosis IV, Ramses I, Ramses II, Ramses IV, Ramses VI, and IX, King Ay and Horemheb, Seti I, Seti II, and Merneptah.

This location is because the sun god descends (dies) on the western horizon in order to be reborn and rejuvenated on the eastern horizon, and the Valley of the Kings is divided into the eastern and western valleys.

The most important tombs in the Valley of the Kings:
One of the most famous tombs is "Tutankhamun's tomb" which was discovered in 1922, where its treasures were discovered completely without any damage, on its walls written in hieroglyphs, "Death will strike with its poisonous wings whoever disturbs the peace of the king," and this sentence was the reason for the spread of the legend of "the curse of the pharaohs ".

You can only visit three tombs with a basic Valley of the Kings ticket (except from a few special ones, which I'll explain momentarily), so make sure you pick wisely. Only 18 of the total 63 graves are ever made accessible to the general public. Even then, they were never used simultaneously.

The Valley of the Kings is home to over 60 known tombs, although discoveries continue to be made. These tombs were constructed for pharaohs, including famous rulers like Tutankhamun and Ramesses II, as well as other high-ranking individuals.

The Valley of the Kings contains over 60 tombs, although not all of them belonged to pharaohs. Some tombs were built for royal family members and high-ranking officials. The exact number may vary as new discoveries are occasionally made.

The Valley of the Kings dates back to 1550 B.C. The site was chosen for its proximity to the royal temples, and it is believed that the first Pharaonic ruler was Thutmose I, and the last to be buried there was Ramses XI the last king of the Twentieth Dynasty.
